Born in 1899 in Mt Eden, Auckland. The third daughter of William and Eliza Jane Keyes. Married in 1919 to Thomas Leslie Svenden and widowed at the age of 23 years with three children (Vic, Norma, & Pat).
Remarrying 4 years later to Moses Ceril Preston, Ian was born of this marrage.
Widowed again in 1967. Living at Mt Edan until 1985 when she went to live in Waihi with Pat.
They both moved to Manurewa in 1986 where she stayed for 6.5 years.
Hutton Manor was her home for the past 5 years. Remembered for her gift with her hands - crochet work - handcrafts and her garden, her determined chin and her great sense of humour.
Passed away 11th July 1996
